Requirements
The parent area must have a quantity of zero
Areas with quantities greater than zero cannot have sub-areas added
Steps
Go to the Areas tab in your project
Click New to create the parent area
Enter the area name and code
Set the quantity per floor to zero (leave blank)
Click Save
Click on the parent area
Click the Add Sub Area button (appears when quantity is zero)
Enter the sub-area name and code
Click Save
The sub-area appears indented under the parent area. You can add multiple sub-areas to the same parent.
Important Notes
Sub-areas have their own quantities
The parent area's total quantity updates based on sub-area quantities
Areas that already have quantities assigned cannot accept sub-areas
The "Add Sub Area" button only appears when the parent area quantity is zero
