Prerequisites
Set up your areas first in the Areas tab.
Steps
Open the spec
Go to the Details tab
Scroll down to the Areas and Quantities section
Option 1: General Quantity
For simple projects: Enter a single quantity, Select a unit (e.g., each, yards, sq ft)
Option 2: Quantity by Area
For complex projects:
Select Option 2
Click Add Area
Choose areas from the dropdown (pulls from Areas tab)
Enter quantity for each area
Select the unit
Repeat for additional areas
Tips
You can assign the same spec to multiple areas
Sub-areas are available if you use the two-spec-code system
The total quantity tallies automatically at the bottom
Always specify the unit so the software calculates correctly
