Which format to use
Windows: AVI
Mac: QuickTime MOV
Simulations you'll move between Windows, Mac and iPad: MP4. MP4 works on all three, so it's the safest choice for anything you'll share.
You can convert videos to AVI, MOV or MP4 with free tools such as VLC Media Player or HandBrake before adding them.
How to add a video
Use the Load Video button.
Videos are not added to a background library. They're separate files.
Keep each video in the same folder as the simulation that uses it. When you move, export or share a simulation, copy its video files with it (exported .dcs/.lbr or published .dcx files don't include videos).
A good place for videos is Documents\FireStudio7\Videos.
Give each video a unique file name to avoid conflicts.
Troubleshooting
If a video won't play, check the format (AVI for Windows, MOV for Mac, MP4 for anything shared or played on iPad) and make sure the video file is in the same folder as the simulation.
