Start here: update Fire Studio 7
We released a stability update that fixes many random crashes in Fire Studio 7 for Windows. Make sure you're running version 7.2.05.b003 or newer. (Not sure which version you have? See How do I find what version number of Fire Studio I am running?)
Get the latest installer. If you don't have your download link, email support@digitalcombustion.com with your name, department and License ID and we'll send it.
Uninstall the old version: Windows Settings > Apps (or Control Panel > Programs and Features), select Fire Studio 7, and click Uninstall.
Install the new version and follow the prompts.
You don't need to reactivate. The new install should recognize your existing activation. If it doesn't, restart the computer and try again.
Still crashing? Check these common causes
Update your graphics drivers. Outdated graphics drivers are one of the most common causes of crashes. Get the latest driver from NVIDIA or AMD's website.
Install the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x64). Some new Windows computers don't include the current version. See Missing DLL warnings for the download link.
Use the dedicated graphics card. If your laptop has both a dedicated graphics card and integrated graphics, set your power/graphics settings so Fire Studio always uses the dedicated card.
Check DirectX 12 support. Your graphics card must support DirectX 12.
