Certification Overview
Diligentsia Certification helps a company (or its advisor) work through corporate due diligence in a structured way, so the company can demonstrate how organised, complete, and risk-aware it is — depending on its objective:
Investment Ready
Growth Ready
Exit Ready
Certification is generated from the modules you complete on the platform and the completeness and risk scores produced from your inputs.
You can achieve certification in two ways:
Unaudited (Self-Certification) — generated automatically based on what you complete in the platform.
Audited Certification (Pro Plus) — a third party (e.g., your lawyer/accountant) or Diligentsia reviews your completed modules using checklists and issues an audited certificate.
Or with Diligentsia Pro Plus, you can get third party audited certification:
Certification Levels
Diligentsia issues three certification levels:
Bronze Certification (Basic)
Bronze indicates a company has reached a basic level of corporate organisation and compliance, based on reaching minimum completeness and risk thresholds.
Bronze is typically achieved through completing core modules and meeting minimum scoring thresholds.
Silver Certification (Potentially Investible)
Silver indicates a higher level of organisation where a company may be viewed as potentially investible.
Important: Silver certification is not a guarantee of investment readiness. Investors must still conduct their own due diligence. To reach Silver, your company must:
Meet higher thresholds of completeness and risk in:
Data Repository
Business Audit
And purchase + complete two Expansion Packs:
Directors’ Questionnaires
Warranty Disclosure Schedule
Gold Certification (Sophisticated)
Gold represents a sophisticated level of corporate organisation. Like Silver, Gold is not a guarantee of outcome, and third parties must still conduct their own due diligence. To progress from Silver to Gold, you must:
Meet higher thresholds again for completeness and risk in:
Data Repository
Business Audit
And achieve higher scores in:
Directors’ Questionnaires
Warranty Disclosure Schedule
Where to See Threshold Requirements
You can view the specific thresholds needed for Bronze, Silver, and Gold inside the platform:
Company Dashboard → Certification
(Your thresholds are shown there because they depend on module completion and scoring.)
Improving Your Certification Score
You can improve your certification scores in two main ways:
Improve completeness
Ensure each section/question is properly completed
Upload or organise supporting documentation where required
Reduce risk
Improve internal processes and governance
Address issues flagged during completion of modules
Audited vs Unaudited Certification
Unaudited Certification (Self-Certification)
Generated when you complete modules yourself
No external review
Useful as an internal readiness indicator
Audited Certification (Pro Plus)
A third party (your lawyer/accountant) or Diligentsia reviews your completed modules
If you meet the standard, you receive an audited certificate
Audited certification is designed to carry more credibility with third parties
2-Minute Test Certificate vs Bronze/Silver/Gold
These are different things:
2-Minute Test certificate: a quick pass/fail indicator from the short test
Bronze/Silver/Gold certification: awarded only after completing multiple in-depth modules and meeting scoring thresholds
Accountability / Reliance
Diligentsia certification is an indicator produced from the platform’s tools and your inputs.
Third parties must conduct their own due diligence
Diligentsia is not responsible for third-party decisions based on certification
Certification does not guarantee fundraising, investment, growth, or exit outcomes
FAQs
Q: Can I download my certification?
Yes. Certification can be exported as a PDF from the Certification module.
Q: Can I achieve Silver or Gold without Expansion Packs?
No. Silver and Gold require completion of the Directors’ Questionnaires and Warranty Disclosure Schedule Expansion Packs.
Q: Where do I find certification thresholds?
Go to Company Dashboard → Certification.
Q: What’s the difference between audited and unaudited certification?
Unaudited is self-completed. Audited is reviewed by a third party via Pro Plus.
Q: Can investors rely only on Diligentsia certification?
No. Certification is an indicator and does not replace investor due diligence.
