Q: What is add company?

Add company is the process where the Diligentsia account owner adds a new company to the platform through the Company Index. Advisor and investor Diligentsia account owners in Portfolio Pro can also add their companies to their Advisor Client Index and Investor Portfolio Index respectively. (Emails are then sent to the company’s designated contact (normally the CEO) for authorization.

If you have a group of companies, you should first add the companies before linking them to create a group. For more information on creating a group, click here.

Q How do I add a company to the platform?

You can add a company to your company index in five easy steps.

Step 1. Go to company index and click "Add Company"

Step 2. Select your company from the UK Companies House list and confirm.

Click on 'Confirm Company"

Step 3. Complete the screen which asks for 4 additional pieces of information:

  1. Your company's web site address.

  2. 5 keywords which best describe your company's core activities eg. "UK regional passenger freight airport"

  3. Your company's stage of development - pre-revenue, post revenue early stage or mature.

  4. Your primary objective for the company - making it more investment ready, growth ready or exit ready.

Add your company website and click on "Confirm"

Click on "Submit"

A wait screen would popup for a few minutes.

Step 4. Review our 200 word summary we have compiled of your business activities. This summary will be used to personalize and bespoke many elements of our platform. You can later change this in Company Settings > Company Info.

If the company has already been added, a popup would show asking you to add a different company or request for access for the company.

Step 5. See your newly created company on your Company Index. It's inactive until you choose a subscription plan. For more information on subscription plans or on how to subscribe, please click here.

Q: Does my company have to be registered at UK Companies House?

Yes - at the moment we only cater for UK companies and other entities that are registered at UK Companies House. In the future we intend to expand outside of the UK, and if you provide us your email address we will contact you when we are ready to do so.

Q: Can I set up Welsh or Scottish or Northern Ireland companies?

Yes - You can set up Welsh or Scottish or Northern Ireland companies provided they are registered at UK Companies house.

Q: Can I delete a company?

Yes - you can delete a company in Company Settings>Delete Company. Only a designated "owner" can do this. Once you do this, it is irreversible, and all data is lost from the Diligentsia platform, including any Diligentsia Data Room folders and files we have set up in your Data Room.

Q: Can we change a company name once we have registered it on the platform?

Presently, you can't change a company name once we have registered it on the platform. You will have to set up a new company. However, if we can help you we will - please contact support@diligentsia.co.uk.

Q: We have a group of companies. Can we register a group?

Yes - please first add/create all your companies that comprise your group, on your Company Index. Then use the Create Group function on the Company Index to designate the various companies as a parent, subsidiary or associate.

Q: Do all the group companies need to be on the same Diligentsia subscription/plan?

No - you can select the most appropriate plan for each company. For example, you could select Diligentsia Pro for the parent if it is the main trading company, and Lite for the subsidiaries if they are less active corporately.

Q: I selected the wrong company objective and I've added the company, is there anyhow i can change that?

Presently, you can't do that. However, if we can help you we will - please contact support@diligentsia.co.uk.

Q: Can I assign different users to manage specific companies?

Yes you can, through User Permissions and Management. You can check out an article on that here

Q: I want to add an existing company, how do I go about that?

To add an existing company, you'll need permission from the company owner. Follow the below steps to add an existing company.

Step 1: Follow the normal procedures of adding a company

Step 2: If it's an exiting company, you'll see a popup saying you should request access. Ask for access, if company owner grants you access, you'll be able to login and access the dashboard.

You'll click on "ask company for access"

Access request has been sent to the company owner. You are also notified with an email.

The company owner has been notified with an email of your request.

If the owner grants you access, you'll be notified and you'll be able to login and access the company's dashboard.

Troubleshooting

Q: Why can’t I find the “Add Company” button in the Company Index?

A: Ensure you are logged in as the account owner or have the appropriate permissions. Only owners or admins can add companies.

Q: What should I do if my company doesn’t appear in the UK Companies House list?

A: Double-check the company name or registration number. If the issue persists, confirm that the company is registered with UK Companies House.

Q: Can I add a company not registered in the UK?

A: No. Currently, the platform currently supports only UK-registered companies. For future expansions, sign up for updates via email.

Q: Why does it say the company has already been added?

A: If a company is already on the platform, you can request access via the provided prompt. Alternatively, contact the company admin for permissions.

Q: What should I do if I selected the wrong company objective?

A: Objectives cannot be changed after the company is added. Contact support@diligentsia.co.uk for assistance.

Q: Why is my company marked as inactive after adding it?

A: Companies remain inactive until a subscription plan is selected. Visit the subscription page to activate the company.

Q: Can I add subsidiaries to a parent company later?

A: Yes, first add all companies individually, then use the "Create Group" function on the Company Index to link them.

Q: What happens if I delete a company by mistake?

A: Deleting a company is irreversible, and all associated data is lost. Contact support immediately for potential recovery options.

Q: Why can’t I edit the company name after adding it?

A: Company names cannot be edited once registered. You’ll need to add a new company with the correct name.

Q: Can I add multiple companies at once?

A: No, each company must be added individually. For assistance with bulk additions, contact support.

Q: What should I do if the company summary is inaccurate?

A: You can edit the summary later in Company Settings > Company Info. Review and update the details as needed.

Q: Why is the "Submit" button grayed out during the add company process?

A: Ensure all required fields (website, keywords, stage of development, objective) are completed before submitting.

Q: Can I add a company without providing its website?

A: No, a valid website is required during the company addition process to tailor the platform’s features.

Q: Why is the wait screen taking too long?

A: Processing times depend on server load. Refresh the page or try again later. If the issue persists, contact support.

Q: How do I ensure different companies in a group have unique plans?

A: Assign a subscription plan to each company individually, selecting the one that best suits their activity level.

Q: Why is my company’s objective missing from the dashboard?

A: Objectives are set during company creation and cannot be changed. Ensure the correct objective was selected initially.

Q: How do I assign specific users to manage a newly added company?

A: Use the User Permissions and Management feature to assign roles. Refer to the User Permissions article here for more details.

Q: What should I do if the platform doesn’t allow me to delete a company?

A: Only owners can delete a company. Check your permissions or contact your account admin for assistance.
