Q How can I tell who is the admin on my company?

We call the admin the "owner"; they are shown against the company on both the Company Index and the Company Dashboard.

Q Can a company have more than two admins/owners?

Yes, you can create additional admins/owners in Company Settings>User Permissions.

Q What rights does an admin/owner have?

Q Can a user delete a company?

No, a user cannot delete a company. Only an owner/admin can delete a company.

Q How do I add additional users to the platform?

You should go to Company Settings>User Permissions. Please click here to see related article - Add User.

Q Can I edit/change/delete a user's permissions?

Yes - You should go to Company Settings>User Permissions.

Q Can I restrict access to different parts of the Diligentsia platform/site to different users?

Yes. To restrict access to different parts of the Diligentsia platform/site to different users you should go to Company Settings>User Permissions.

Q How do I remove a user from the platform?

To remove a user from the platform you should go to Company Settings>User Permissions.

Q Can I restrict access of a user to the Data Room?

Yes. You can select for the user not to have Data Room access. However, the default position is that they do have access. This is binary - we do not control your Data Room provider's own access controls.

Q Does Diligentsia have access control/user permissions/user management system?

Yes. You can find these in Company Settings>User Permissions.

Q Can I give access to my lawyer or accountant?

Yes. You can give access to your lawyer or accountant. We have an advisor module specifically for them, where you can control who sees what on your platform. You can set and control this access in Company Settings>Advisor Permissions.

Q Can I give access to an investor?

Yes. You can give access to an investor. We have an investor module specifically for them, where you can control who sees what on your platform. You can set and control this access in Company Settings>Investor Permissions.

Q Can I restrict admin rights?

Yes. To restrict admin rights, you should go to Company Settings>User Permissions.

Q Where can I see user permissions/rights?

To see user permissions/rights you should go to Company Settings>User Permissions.

Q Why are some areas of the platform greyed out when I try to access them?

Those areas are greyed out because they are the areas of the platform that your account owner has put restricted access onto. If you want to gain access, please contact your account owner (they are identified against your company on both the Company Index and Company Dashboard.

Troubleshooting

Q: How do I find out who the admin/owner is for my company?

A: The admin/owner is listed under your company name on both the Company Index and the Company Dashboard.

Q: What should I do if no admin/owner is listed for my company?

A: Ensure your company is registered correctly. If no admin is displayed, contact support@diligentsia.co.uk for assistance.

Q: Why can’t I add another admin/owner?

A: Only existing admins/owners can add additional admins. Check your permissions under Company Settings>User Permissions.

Q: Can I remove the original admin/owner?

A: No, the original admin/owner cannot be removed unless the ownership is transferred. Contact support for guidance on ownership transfers.

Q: Why can’t I access User Permissions to add or edit users?

A: Access to User Permissions is restricted to admins/owners. Contact your account admin to request changes.

Q: Why are some sections of the platform greyed out for me?

A: These sections are restricted based on your user permissions. Contact your account admin to request access.

Q: Can I give admin rights to more than two users?

A: Yes, you can assign admin rights to multiple users through Company Settings>User Permissions.

Q: Why can’t I delete a company?

A: Only admins/owners can delete a company. Ensure you have admin rights and follow the process in Company Settings>Delete Company.

Q: Can I temporarily disable a user’s access instead of deleting them?

A: Yes, you can restrict their access to the platform by modifying their permissions in Company Settings>User Permissions.

Q: Why can’t I access the Data Room?

A: Access to the Data Room may be restricted by your admin/owner. Contact them to request access.

Q: Can I assign different permissions for lawyers and accountants?

A: Yes, you can use the Advisor Permissions module in Company Settings to customize access for your advisors.

Q: How can I check which users have Data Room access?

A: Navigate to Company Settings>User Permissions to view and manage user access, including the Data Room.

Q: Why can’t I see the Investor Permissions settings?

A: Only admins/owners can access and modify Investor Permissions. Contact your admin if you need changes made.

Q: What happens if an admin/owner leaves the company?

A: Assign a new admin/owner before the original admin leaves. If no admin is available, contact support for assistance.

Q: Why is my lawyer unable to access certain parts of the platform?

A: Ensure the lawyer’s access is set up correctly in the Advisor Permissions module. Update their permissions if needed.

Q: Can I track changes made by admins/owners?

A: Yes, all changes are logged in the platform's Audit Log, accessible through the Company Dashboard.

Q: Why can’t I restrict access for another admin?

A: Admins have equal rights by default. To restrict access, ensure the user’s role is adjusted to a non-admin level in User Permissions.
