1. Access the placement test feature
Log in to Dokeos LMS as an instructor.
Click on "Placement tests" in the sidebar.
Select the "Themes" option.
After clicking, you will be redirected to a page where you can view existing themes.
2. Manage existing themes
On this page, you can search for themes using the search bar.
Use the "Export" button to download existing themes as an Excel file.
For each theme, three buttons are available:
Edit: to modify the theme.
Duplicate: to create a copy of the theme.
Delete: to remove the theme.
To add a new theme, click the "Add" button.
3. Create a new theme: four steps
Step 1: Information
Enter the title and description of the theme to clarify its subject.
Step 2: Skills
Assign skills to your theme based on the subject. For example, if the theme is about Microsoft Office, you can add "Microsoft Office" as a skill.
Step 3: Segmentation
Define segments based on participants' scores. For example, create two groups:
Those who scored between 0 and 50%.
Those who scored between 51 and 100%.
For each segment, you can define a skill level. For example, participants scoring 0 to 50% can receive level 2 in "Microsoft Office." You can also suggest a training course for this group.
Step 4: Adding questions
In this step, add questions to the theme. The process is similar to creating questions for an evaluation module. If you need help with this, refer to our article on the evaluation module.
Conclusion
Creating a theme for placement tests on Dokeos LMS allows you to structure your assessments efficiently. By organizing content by subject and assigning skills, you provide a learning experience tailored to your learners' needs.
