To fully understand the vocabulary used by Dokeos and Dendreo
The operation of the two software is very similar but certain used terms may differ:
In Dokeos, we create courses made up of modules (scorm, learning, evaluation, etc.)
In Dendreo, you schedule training actions made up of modules from your catalogue.
The link between the two software allows you to link a module from your Dendreo training catalog to a Dokeos course.
Configuration
1. Go to the Dokeos configuration of your Dendreo account to configure the following elements:
Name of your Dokeos instance (Tenant Name)
API key (Tenant Token)
You will find these two pieces of information on your Dokeos account (click on the image to display the interactive tutorial):
2. Still in Dokeos, activate the Dendreo integration:
Creating courses in Dokeos
Before using Dendreo, you must create and publish the courses in Dokeos.
For more information on this, please click here.
NOTE: the date management is done in Dendreo when you schedule training actions. It is therefore necessary to create courses without dates in Dokeos!!
Creation of your training catalog in Dendreo
Create your modules in your training catalog and link them to the courses created in Dokeos.
Select "eLearning" as the organization mode, once done, you will see the "Formation Dokeos" field which allows you to find the courses you have created on your Dokeos portal. Select the desired course to make the link.
NB: you can modify the links between the module and the Dokeos course as long as this module is not used in a training action with registered participants.

Registering participants
Here is the procedure to follow: https://doc.dendreo.com/article/183-inscription-des-participants-a-une-action-de-formation
When you register a participant to an eLearning training action related to Dokeos:
Dokeos automatically creates a user account with the email address entered in Dendreo;
The participant is automatically registered to the course in Dokeos;
An invitation email to join the Dokeos portal and a registration email to the course in Dokeos are sent to the participant.
NOTE: The Dokeos invitation to access the LMS will only be sent once the training course has started. If the training course is scheduled in the future, the participant will only receive the email when the start date is reached.
On the Dokeos side, you can easily identify registrations from Dendreo via the small "frog" icon next to the name of the participants. Note that subscriptions synchronized with Dendreo cannot be deleted from Dokeos, you will need to delete them from Dendreo to ensure correct data synchronization.
NEWS:
Registration without email
It is possible to register learners without an email address in Dendreo and also register them in DOKEOS in a course.
You have to adjust certain synchronization settings (Configuration > Dokeos), such as forcing a password, to be able to communicate in a different way the login + password to the learner (via his hierarchical superior for example).
Another solution is to use SSO between Dendreo and Dokeos, ie the learner is only given his 9-digit code to access his Dendreo Extranet. And once connected to this Extranet, he can connect to Dokeos in 1 click, without needing a login and password.
