Dokeos LMS enables various actions, from creating online courses to distributing them and tracking learners. Here is an overview of the different roles available on the platform and their functionalities.

Roles on Dokeos LMS

1. Learner

Learners have access to several features, including:

  • Access to assigned courses: They can log in and view the courses assigned to them.

  • Discussion forum: They can post messages in the forums of the courses they are enrolled in.

  • Personal statistics: They can access their own performance statistics.

2. Manager

Managers have responsibilities focused on analysis and validation:

  • Access to statistics: They can review statistics for modules and courses on the portal.

  • Enrollment validation: They are responsible for approving course enrollment requests.

3. Group manager

Group leaders manage specific groups:

  • Group management: They are responsible for the groups assigned to them.

  • Access to group statistics: They can review statistics related to their groups.

Important information: A group leader may have additional rights on the platform if the administrator enables them in the portal settings.

4. Trainer

Trainers play a key role in course creation and monitoring:

  • Creation of modules and courses: They are responsible for designing and publishing courses.

  • Module statistics: They have access to statistics related to their modules and courses.

Important information: Trainers can only view the modules and courses they have created or those they have been invited to as co-trainers. The same applies to statistics—they only have access to the statistics of the modules and courses assigned to them.

5. Administrator

Administrators have the most extensive privileges on the platform:

  • Interface configuration: They customize the portal’s interface as needed.

  • Full access to courses: They can access all courses and modules on the portal.

  • Management of the image library: They oversee images used for course covers.

  • User import/removal: They manage user accounts on the portal.

  • Creation of groups and certificates: They can create new groups and generate certificates for learners.

  • Management of filters and categories: They organize content on the portal.

  • Integration with Shopify: If applicable, they manage the course catalog via Shopify.

  • Access to statistics: They can review statistics for all modules and courses.
