Building an assessment module in Dokeos LMS is crucial for evaluating learners’ skills. Follow this step-by-step guide to create your assessment module efficiently.

1. Access the modules section:

Log in to Dokeos LMS as an instructor and follow these steps:

  1. Click "My Modules" in the main menu.

  2. Click on the "+" button to create a new module.

2. Choose the module type:

Select "Assessment Module" from the available options.

3. Module details:

Fill in the essential information for your module:

  • Module Title: Provide a clear name for your assessment.

  • Description: Explain the module’s objective and content.

  • Keywords: Add relevant keywords for easy search.

  • Estimated Time: Specify how long learners should take to complete the module.

  • Additional Instructors: Add other trainers if necessary.

4. Add questions:

Dokeos offers seven types of questions for assessments:

  • True/False: Learners determine whether a statement is correct.

  • Multiple Choice: More than one answer can be correct.

  • Single Choice: Learners can only select one correct answer.

  • Fill-in-the-Blanks: Learners complete sentences by filling in missing words.

  • Matching Questions: Learners match items from two lists.

  • Ordering Questions: Learners rearrange elements in the correct order.

  • Hotspot Questions: Learners click on the correct area within an image.

5. Create questions:

a) Add a question

  1. Click on "Question" in the left menu.

  2. Select the desired question type.

b) Enter question details

For each question, provide:

  • Question Statement: Write the main question.

  • Additional Instructions (optional): Provide guidelines or hints if needed.

  • Correct Answer(s): Indicate the correct response(s).

c) Add explanations:

  • Include an explanation that appears when a learner selects the wrong answer.

  • This feature depends on your module settings.

d) Add media:

Enhance the learning experience by including:

  • Images

  • Audio Tracks

  • Videos

These can be added to both questions and explanations for better comprehension.

6. Save and publish :

  • Preview your module to check for errors.

  • Publish the module to make it accessible to learners.
