Adding passive segments from DRCT to Amadeus

Passive segments are informational segments in Amadeus that are used to display bookings created in another system (for example, in DRCT).

🔹 Why are passive segments useful?

  • If you mainly work in Amadeus, passive segments help you keep track of bookings issued in DRCT as well. When you open a PNR, you immediately know which platform it belongs to.

  • Since tickets from different systems have different formats, a passive segment allows you to send itineraries to clients in a unified, standard Amadeus format.

🔹 How to add a passive segment from DRCT into Amadeus

  1. Open Amadeus and the DRCT extension in the same browser tab/window.

  2. Click ADD and enter the locator — a booking with passive segments will be created in the GDS.

  3. To finish and save the PNR, enter the following commands in order:

AP (contact details) → RF [your signature] → TK OK (confirm ticket status) → ER (save changes)

🔹 How to email an itinerary in Amadeus format

  1. Complete the steps above.

  2. Enter the command: IEP-EML-[your email]

  3. That’s it — the itinerary will be sent to the provided email address.
