Preparing for a Single Endorsement (e.g., HazMat): How Does It Work?

Effective 7 Feb 2022, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) now requires applicants to obtain ELDT training before getting a CDL or certain endorsements (see if this affects you).

You can use our CDL Premium program (https://driving-tests.org/cdl-premium/, Monthly or Lifetime) and select "Hazardous Materials" on the Settings page.

After you successfully complete the HazMat program requirements, we report your ELDT theory training completion to the FMCSA Training Provider Registry. The state must verify that completion before the state-administered HazMat knowledge test.

When should I go to the DMV or testing location?
