Step 1: Accessing the CSV Upload Feature
First, you'll need to open the upload modal and find the CSV import tool.
From your main dashboard, click the Upload button.
The Upload Media modal will appear. In the bottom right, click the Tools button.
From the dropdown menu that appears, select Import from CSV.
Step 2: Preparing and Uploading Your CSV File
Before you upload, make sure your CSV file is formatted correctly.
Your CSV file must contain a header row. At a minimum, you need one column for your video URLs. You can also include an optional column for custom titles.
url (Required): The direct link to your video (e.g., YouTube, Vimeo).
title (Optional): A custom title for your video. If you don't provide one, we will automatically use the title from the video source.
If you need help getting started, you can download a pre-formatted template from the Import Videos from CSV modal. We offer a "Basic" template (URL column only) and a "With Titles" template.
Once your file is ready, drag and drop it into the upload area, or click the upload area to browse and select the file from your computer.
Step 3: Previewing Your Data and Mapping Columns
After uploading, you'll get a chance to preview your data and ensure it's mapped correctly.
After a successful upload, you will see a preview of your CSV, including the filename, file size, the total number of videos detected, and a preview of the first few rows.
Review the preview to make sure everything looks correct. If it does, click Continue to Mapping.
On the mapping screen, you must tell Echo Labs which column in your file contains the video URLs. Select the correct column from the Video URL Column dropdown menu.
If you included custom titles, select the corresponding column from the Title Column dropdown. This is optional.
Step 4: Starting the Import
Once you've mapped your columns, you're ready to import.
After you map the required URL column, the Import [X] Videos button will become active. Click this button to begin the import process. You will then see a "Preparing your upload" screen as we begin to process your videos.
What's next?
Once you start the import, the videos from your CSV file will be added to your upload queue and processed just like any other video. You can monitor their progress from your main dashboard. Once a video is captioned or audio described, it will appear in your account, ready for use!
