Hub Production Planning

Updated over 2 months ago

A Hub kitchens production will be defined by the productions set by the Spokes.

Spokes have up until the cutoff times set to set their productions at which point the Hub kitchen can finalise production planning.

Reviewing set productions using Production Summary

Navigate to Production > Production Planner. Click 'Plan' next to the day you'd like to review (if you have already made some edits this button will say 'edit'.)

If at least one site has set their production, in the 'Production Summary' page you will see a table with a column for each site and a row for each product.

The columns will be populated with the number of products that site has set, and you can use the 'Total' column to see the total number of that product that will need producing for all sites.

By default, the table will show Production 1, but you can use the dropdown under 'Production' to switch to any of your available productions that a site has set productions for.

You can also use the 'Site' dropdown to view a specific site.

Please note: if no site has set a production yet this page will be blank.

Editing a sites set production

There may be occasions you need to adjust the quantities a site has set. For example, if they have set their production too early by accident and want to make some changes.

To do this head to your 'Production Summary' and using the 'Production' and 'Site' dropdowns filter to the site and production that requires changing.

You will only be able to edit when you have one site selected in the dropdown. The 'Edit' button is deactivated if 'all sites' is selected.

The number fields will become editable and you can make any necessary changes. The original number set will be shown in orange beneath the box so you can always revert back to this if required.

Click 'Save' and you'll be prompted to record the reason for this change.

Once you have submitted the changes will reflect in the Production Summary, and in the Spokes production planner.

Please note, once a cutoff time has passed the 'Production Summary' locks and edits cannot be made through this method.

Reviewing all set productions

Using the 'Plan your Production' tab you can view, across all productions, the total number of each product you will be making.

This table cannot be filtered by production or site and instead shows a consolidated view. Edits cannot be made on this table.

Identifying which sites have not set productions

At the top of each Production Planner page if there are any sites which have not yet sent their requests you will see an orange ! symbol.

You will be shown in orange the names of the sites that have not yet sent their requests.

You will not be able to plan your benches until all sites have submitted their requests, or the cutoff time passes.

Allowing sites to set production after cutoff

Generally, all sites should set productions prior to the cutoff times, however there may be occasions a site misses their cutoff time.

On these occasions the site can reach out to the Hub and request their production planner be 'Unlocked'.

  1. Navigate to Production > Production Planner

  2. Click 'Edit' for the day you need to unlock.

  3. The sites which have not set productions will be highlighted in Orange under the 'Some spoke sites haven't set their productions' warning.

  4. Hover over the site you want to unlock

  5. Click 'Unlock production planner'

This will unlock the sites production planner for that site only, allowing them to set their production for that day. Once they have set their production their production planner will lock again.

Once you have received their request you can plan your benches.

The 'unlock' feature is only designed for situations when a Spoke does not set a production. If a Hub has set a production and wants to edit quantities the 'Edit' process outlined above should be used.

Please note, if you had already begun planning your benches when the site reaches out to request to be unlocked you will need to delete all the benches before you can unlock them.

Adding On Demand requests from sites

Outside of their set productions sites may need to request extra products towards the end of the day to ensure there is a full range of products available.

To do this, the sites will contact the Hub directly.

Once the Hub has received the request you can utilise the 'On Demand Production' to produce these. Simply follow this guide to see how to produce products using On Demand.
