On Edvibe, you can conduct not just individual lessons, but also group sessions. The maximum number of students in a group is 25. To start, you need to create a group class.
Creating a Group Class
To create a group class, go to the "Classes - Groups" tab in the teacher's account and click on the button to create a new group class. Think of a title and, if needed, upload a group cover image.
Once you've created the group class, add learning materials for the students. Click on the "Add materials" button and choose a lesson from your personal course-books or from the platform's catalog.
After pinning the materials, you can add students to the class. To add the first student, click on the "Add student" banner. The system will offer three options to add students:
By link. Copy and share the link with new or existing students. A new student will enter their email address and receive a password, which they can use to log in. After filling in their details, they can join the virtual class. If students are already registered on the platform, they simply need to follow the link to join the group class.
By email. While in the virtual class, click on the group icon, then on the “Add a student” button. Choose "Add by e-mail". Enter the student's name, email, native language, and timezone. The student will receive an email with a password to the provided address. After setting up their profile, they can access the virtual class.
Select from the existing students. You can create a group from students previously added to the platform. In the virtual class, click on the “Add a student” button and choose “Select from the existing”.
To view the list of students added to the group, click on your avatar in the top right corner of the virtual class. Clicking the “See all students” will display the entire student list.
Removing Students from the Group
In the virtual class, click on the group icon and select "Students" from the menu. Then, click on the ellipsis next to a student's name whom you want to remove, and select “Remove from the class”.
You can view the groups you've created by navigating to the "Classes — Groups" tab. Open a group profile by clicking on the person icon. Here, you can edit the group name, cover image, choose a background, activate stats and ranking, or delete the group.
Within the group profile, the "Students" tab shows info about group members. Here, you can also add or remove students.
The "Schedule" tab displays the timetable; you can add group lessons to your schedule.
Under the "Statistics" tab, you can view your students' performance and analyze who's doing well and who needs more attention.
Group classes on the platform allow you to effectively organize group learning and monitor students' progress.
