Quick start guide for school teachers

How to log in to the teacher's account? What settings need to be done? How to enter the virtual classroom?

Updated over a year ago

Teacher Account Setup

After being added to the school account by the administrator, you will receive an email with login credentials - your email as the username and a password. Click on the account activation button and enter these credentials in the login and password fields.

After logging into your account, you will need to upload an avatar and enter your details, such as country, time zone, and complete the registration.

If the school administrator has provided the option, fill in your work schedule. Mark the working hours by checking the cells in which you can conduct lessons. The administrator can also fill in the work schedule, in which case they will mark the checkboxes.

Schedule

In the "Schedule" tab of your account, you can modify your work schedule if the school administrator has granted permission for this setting.

Classes

In the "Classes" tab, you can see a list of students and groups.

Only the school administrator can invite students, add them to groups, and assign teachers to them. As a teacher, you can view student profiles, change a student's time zone, native language, specify their city, and leave notes in their profiles.

You will receive a notification when a new student is added, and you can access the student's profile from the notification window.

Materials

In the "Materials" tab, you will find the materials you will be working with students.

School Courses

School courses are courses created or purchased by the school administrators. In this tab, you will find all the materials you have access to.

Personal

In the "Personal" tab, you can create your own materials for teaching. These materials are not owned by the school, but if necessary, the administrator can copy them to the school's catalog.

Interactive Whiteboards

In this tab, you can see the list of available interactive whiteboards in the school and create your own virtual whiteboards. You can learn more about school whiteboards in this article.

Settings

You can change settings in the "Settings" tab. If needed, upload a different avatar, set a new password, change interface settings and time zone, fill in phone number information, etc.

Getting Started with Teaching

The teaching process takes place in virtual classrooms. To start teaching, you need to assign a material to the student.

You can enter the virtual classroom in three ways:

  • Through the schedule.

The schedule is set up by the school administrator. Click on the cell of the scheduled lesson with the student (or group of students).

Then click on the "To class" button.

  • Through the "Classes" tab.

Go to the "Classes" tab and select the student or group, then click the "Enter the class" button.

If you hadn't done so before, add materials to study in this class. You can use platform materials, personal materials, or lessons from the school's catalog.

Click Pin the unit button.

The unit will appear in the classroom and become accessible to the student. You can start the lesson when the student is logged into the platform and enters the virtual classroom. You will see this immediately after their active avatar appears in the virtual classroom.

  • Through the materials.

In the "Materials" tab, open the coursebook and unit you plan to teach. Click on the "Start a lesson" button.

Then select the student or group with whom you will conduct the lesson.

The lesson will be automatically assigned to the student or group, and you can start teaching after the student enters the virtual classroom. If the student is offline, you can assign the lesson for future completion.

After assigning the lesson, you can start working with the student on the platform. The process of working in the virtual classroom is described in detail in this section.
