Layers catalog all the elements in each of your scenes for easy viewing and operation. Layers are important because they make it easier for you to operate your event while live, instead of having to click into the scene and open a panel for each poll, audio, etc. You will simply have it all displayed in layers with the controls you need throughout the event.
For every element you add to your scene, a layer will be created. Like in the image below. You can see we have added a video feed for our guest, April, some polls, and some text. We ca even hide and show them as needed like Poll 5.
Layer Settings
Each layer has the same set of settings that can be accessed by clicking the kabob menu to the right of each layer name.
Rename: change the name of your layer.
Duplicate: make a copy of your layer into the same scene.
Copy to... : make a copy of your layer to appear in a different scene. For example, maybe you want the same guest to appear in a new scene, or move a poll from one scene to another.
Delete: remove the layer thus removing the element.
Reordering Layers
Not only do layers show you everything you've added to a scene, they also show you what order they are in. Think of it in terms of image designers like Photoshop or Canva. You can change the order by choosing a position: move to front, move to back, etc.
Layers work in the same way. For example, if you have a video meant to cover the whole screen when it plays, but it's at the very bottom of the layer list, then it might be covered by the other elements in your scene.
In most cases, you will likely arrange your scenes so that everything has its place, but if you need to re-order, just drag and drop the layers where you want to change their position.
Remember, if you also always have the option to hide or show layers even when the broadcast is live.
