Whether you are hosting a remote broadcast or would like some guests to join who couldn't make it to the studio, Effi's guest feature allows you to invite people to join your event no matter where they are.
Adding Guests
Click the Guest icon at the top left corner to open the guest panel.
Click the "New Guest" button at the top.
Next, you'll fill in the guest information.
You can add a photo, enter their name as you want it displayed in the broadcast, title, location, and email (this is optional, you don't need an email to invite guests). You can also give them a label to like "Host" to let others in the broadcast know who they are. When you're finished, click "Next." Don't worry, this part just collects information, your guests won't be invited until you're ready.
✏️ Note: Adding a photo is optional. We will automatically assign their initial as an avatar if no photo is added.
Once you hit that "Next" button, a message will appear letting you know that a guest has been successfully created.
Then you can choose to invite them by email, invite them with a URL, or X out of the popup and invite them later— we will get to that in the next section.
Once you have successfully added a guest, you will see their name in the Guest panel.
✏️ Note: Once you enter your guest information a placeholder will be created for them this way you can add them and preview them in your scenes. Check out this guide to adding guests to scenes.
Inviting Guests to Broadcast
We know that you might start building and designing your events way in advance, and that's why we made it so that you can create placeholders for the guests you want to invite to your broadcast.
Add guests at any time in your building and designing process and then actually invite them only when you're ready to have them join. We'll take you through the steps of how to do that.
Just like when you added guests in the section above, when you are ready to have your guests join, click on that same guest icon on the left-hand side to open the guest panel.
From there, click on the guest you want to invite.
Either enter an email (if you didn't earlier) and hit "Invite by Email" which will send them an invite via email. Or copy the link to send to them another way like via text.
💡Alternatively, instead of clicking on the guest's name, you can open the menu to the left of their name for some quick actions like copying a link to the invite.
As soon as you invite a guest by email, you will see an envelope next to their name in the guest panel.
Once your guest accepts the invite and joins, they will be added to what's called the Greenroom. Read on to learn more about the Greenroom and your guests' experience.
