Audience Chat is a powerful feature within Effi that aggregates live chat messages from all the platforms you're streaming to—such as YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, and more. Instead of juggling multiple windows or tabs to monitor chat interactions across different platforms, Audience Chat brings all messages into one centralized location.

Accessing Audience Chat

To open Audience Chat at any time during the stream, click the chat bubble icon at the top right of Stage.

Audience Chat shows you all the incoming messages from all the platforms you're streaming to, as you can see by the platform icons next to each of the messages.

Audience Chat Settings.

At the top of Audience Chat there are a few buttons and settings. Starting from Left to right:

  1. Text size: The first setting allows you to choose how large you want the text to be displayed. This is only for your personal preference to make it easier for you to see. This will not effect anything outside of Stage.

  2. Share: This allows you to send this link to someone not in stage. It is important to note that guests in the Greenroom have access to Audience Chat as well, but more on that later in this article.

  3. Pop-out Chat: This allows you to pop out chat into a separate window. There is a lot to manage in Stage during a production, so you might want to pop-out chat and place it in another window or desktop to make it easier to see and moderate— which we will cover in the next section.

Moderating with Audience Chat

If you choose to display messages as part of your broadcast using the Chat Element, you will use Audience Chat to moderate in real-time. You can hide or show messages based on your preferences, ensuring that only the content you want is displayed to your viewers.

How you moderate will depend on which settings you choose in Chat.

If you chose "Display All," the setting which displays all incoming messages, then in Audience Chat, all messages will be pre-selected (outlined in blue).

If you want to hide a message, just click the eye icon and any time. Click it again to show.

If you chose "Select Manually" in Chat settings, then in Audience Chat, all messages will be automatically hidden and you will have to select the ones you wan to show by clicking the eye icon to show them.

Just a reminder before we move on, while you can use Audience Chat to moderate your Chat Element, it is available to you through the duration of your broadcast whether you include a Chat Element in your event or not.

Audience Chat & Guests

Audience Chat isn’t just for the users or producers in stage; any guests you invite to your stream can also see the chat messages in the Greenroom. This feature keeps everyone informed about the audience’s reactions and feedback, enhancing collaboration and interaction.

Audience Chat on Effi simplifies managing and moderating live chat interactions, providing a seamless way to engage with your viewers across multiple platforms. By centralizing chat messages and offering real-time moderation, Effi ensures that you and your guests stay connected with your audience throughout the broadcast.
