So you've signed up for Streamocracy, but now you're wondering how your viewers will make donations? Not to worry, we make it easy for your audience to contribute to your cause.
Here's what your viewers will need to do in order to make donations during your. live stream.
1. Sign Up for a Streamocracy Account
Before anyone can donate, they’ll need to have a Streamocracy account. You can encourage viewers to sign up ahead of time, on Streamocracy.com, by promoting on your social channels, so they are ready to go when your event starts. Or you can have them sign up during the event by displaying a QR code with the sign-up link on the screen. Signing up takes only minutes, so there'll still be plenty of time for them to get those donations in.
Viewers sign up by going to Streamocracy.com and hitting "Get Started." From there they will follow the steps to create an account.
2. Use the Donation Prompt During the Livestream
During the stream, you’ll give your viewers a prompt to use for donating. You can say it out loud or put it up on the screen. The prompt can be anything you choose, like:
#donate
#give
Or any custom hashtag you want!
Viewers will just need to add the amount they want to donate right after the prompt. For example, if your prompt is #donate and someone wants to donate $20, they’d type: #donate20.
3. Confirm the Donation
If they've signed up for a Streamocracy account, after they type and send the prompt in the chat, they’ll get a text message asking them to confirm the donation. If they don’t confirm, the donation won’t go through—so it’s important they respond. If we don't receive a confirmation within a few minutes, we will send out a reminder.
4. Donate After the Livestream
If viewers miss the chance to donate during the event or want to donate again, they can still contribute later. Just send them to your organization page, where they can donate anytime, even after the livestream is over.
Keep in mind, viewers can donate on whichever platform they're watching on. So you can stream to all your social platforms and collect donations simultaneously regardless of where your audience chooses to watch.
