Labour costs

In this article you will find more information about the the calculations for the labour costs.

Here's an explanation of the calculations that you can find under the 'Labour costs' button in the schedule and time registration.

There are two different calculations. You can either use a conversion factor or fill out the cost per hour of team members.

Labour costs with a conversion factor

  • Shift duration = How long the shift is

  • Gross hourly wage = A team member's gross salary per hour

  • Allowance factor = An allowance you can add, for example, on holidays

  • Gross labour costs = Total gross wage for this shift

  • Conversion factor = Conversion factor set in contract settings*

  • Net labour costs = The salary + taxes. What the employer pays for this shift.

*Team members have a gross salary per hour in their contract. As an employer, however, you pay more than just the gross salary. You can include these employer costs by setting a conversion factor. You can set this conversion factor per contract type by going to the menu in the top right corner > Venue settings > Contracts.

Labour costs with the cost per hour

  • Shift duur = How long the shift is

  • Cost per hour = If you already know the exact labour costs per hour for an employee, you can fill this out directly in the profile of a team member. You can do this by going to the Team page. Click on a team member and then on 'Personal information" in the top right corner. You can fill out the amount in the field 'Cost per hour'.

  • Allowance factor = An allowance you can add, for example, on holidays

  • Net labour costs = Labour costs per hour + possible allowances.

The big difference with the conversion factor is that the cost per hour can be specified for each team member individually, while the conversion factor can only be set per contract type. This results in more accurate labour costs. If you work with Nmbrs or Staffable, Eitje will also import this information from the integration.

Labor costs including allowances

You can also activate allowances in Eitje in order to pay a higher amount on holidays or for specific hours. This also has an impact on the labour costs.

  • Allowance factor = Allowance overlap * Allowance weight

    • Allowance overlap (Only relevant to the irregularity allowance) = Part of the shift for which the allowance is applicable (is 1 if overlap is 100%)

    • Allowance weight = Amount of Surcharge (1.5 if 50%)
