Challenges

Overview of Challenges in Elemeno for team-building, content promotion, and feature introduction.

Updated over 6 months ago

Introduction

Challenges, a gamification feature, are typically used in two specific scenarios:

  1. to promote specific content to your team during a particular timeframe.

  2. to help introduce your staff to Elemeno features.

Challenges build friendly camaraderie amongst your staff by having teams compete against one another to achieve a goal.

Your Client Success Manager will advise you on what type of challenge might suit your team and will set up your challenges.

Display and Access

When a Challenge is running, users who are set up as participants in the Challenge will see a notification badge in the User Activity Panel. This badge will show if they have yet to complete the Challenge or if they have already completed the tasks.

In this display, the green checkmark means that the user has completed the Challenge.

A list of all of the Challenges for your instance of the Elemeno App, as well as a history of past Challenges can be found by clicking on the Challenges icon in the navigation bar on the left-hand side of the App.

Specifications

Timing

Challenges can run for as long or as short as you wish. Our recommendation is around a month to ensure that your entire team has ample time to access and complete the Challenge.

Scoring

Participants can obtain points for taking any of the following actions:

  • Content interactions. This is an excellent way to make users aware of the content on Elemeno.

    • Resources views - Points for viewing an individual resource.

    • Form submissions - Points for submitting an audit, checklist, decision guide, or self-assessment.

  • Content Feedback - Points for submitting feedback on a specific resource or list of resources.

  • Content Request - Points for submitting a content request (the giant blue button at the bottom of the interface.)

  • Shout-outs - Points for sending a Shout-out.

  • Registration - Points for users accepting their invitation to Elemeno. (This does not apply to sites that use your institution's Single Sign On for authentication.)

Scoring Display

A Challenge can be configured to show the total points that a user has achieved, or it can be configured to show a star by the user's name when they have met the minimum number of points needed to complete a Challenge.
