Item Availability Check

How do I make one item available or unavailable

Question:

How do I stop customers ordering one item that is out of stock

Answer:

  1. Go to your Dashboard

  2. Click Menu Builder


  3. Click Products on the left


  4. Search for the product name

  5. Click the Snooze or Disable option

You will see these choices
​• Snooze for one day

The item comes back automatically after 24 hours

Snooze for one week

The item comes back automatically after 7 days

Disable permanently

The item stays unavailable until you turn it back on manually

Schedule snoozing

Choose exact dates and times when the item should be unavailable


Menu Availability

How do I turn a full menu on or off

Question:

How do I stop a whole menu showing during a service change

Answer:

  1. Go to Menu Builder

  2. Click Menus on the left

You will see Draft menus and Published menus


Important to know

• Draft menus are not visible to customers

• Published menus are live on online ordering and POS

To make a menu unavailable

  1. Scroll down to Published menus

  2. Find the menu

  3. Click the Available or Unavailable toggle

Choose snooze options

• One day

• One week

• Permanent

• Scheduled




Product Updates

How do I change price or description

Question:

How do I safely update a product name price or description

Answer:

  1. Go to Menu Builder

  2. Click Products

  3. Search for the product

  4. Click the pencil icon next to the product name

  5. Update
    • Product name
    • Internal name
    • Price
    • Description

  6. Click Update to save

Changes apply instantly.


Creating a Product From Scratch

How do I add a brand new item

Question:

How do I create a new product properly

Answer:

First you must create a stock item

Step 1 Create a stock item

  1. Go to Menu Builder

  2. Click Products



  3. Click Stock Items at the top

  4. Click the yellow Create button

  5. Enter
    • Stock item name
    • Mark as sellable
    • Dietary requirements
    • Allergens

Click Update

Step 2 Turn it into a menu item

  1. Click the Yellow option Create New menu item

  2. Set
    • Price
    • Description

  3. Select the Reprting Category ( Food, Drink or Alcoholic Drink)

  4. Then Click on Blue Update Menu Item Button.


The product is now ready to add to a menu

How do I make the product visible to customers

How do I add an item to a menu

Answer:

  1. Go to Menu Builder

  2. Click Menus

  3. Open a Draft menu using the blue pencil

  4. Scroll to the category you want

  5. Click Add menu item at the bottom

  6. Search for the product

  7. Click the blue plus button

You can

• Publish immediately to go live

• Or keep editing and publish later

How do I disable a full category

How do I hide desserts or sides without editing each item

Answer:

  1. Go to Menu Builder

  2. Open a menu section then click the menu you want|

  3. Scroll to the category

  4. Click the blue pencil next to the category

  5. Click Disable

  6. Click Update

The full category will be unavailable

Closing the Restaurant Instantly

How do I stop orders immediately

Question:

How do I pause ordering if the kitchen cannot take orders

Answer:

  1. Open Live Order Manager

  2. At the top you will see Open or Close

  3. Click Close

Important note

Ordering stays closed until the next scheduled opening time

Understanding Incoming Orders

What is an incoming order

Question:

What does incoming order mean

Answer:

An incoming order is

• A basket that is not paid yet

• The customer is still on checkout

You will see it

• Top left of the Live Order Manager

Action needed

• Ignore it

• It is not a confirmed order

• Only paid orders should be prepared

How do I check an old order for a customer

Answer:

  1. Go to Live Order Manager

  2. Use the search box on the left

  3. Search by
    • Order number
    • Customer name
    • Price

  4. Select a time range

  5. Click Search

Refunds

How do I refund an order

How do I process a refund

Answer:

  1. Find the completed order on the live order Manager Screen By Searching or in the Previous order section.


  2. Open the order

  3. Scroll Down Select Refund amount Full / Or Custome

  4. Confirm the amount

Refunded orders are automatically recorded in the system

How do I see today’s takings

Where can I quickly see today’s revenue

Answer:

  1. Open Dashboard

  2. Click on Anylitics & Reporting Section

This shows live sales without running reports

Updating Landing Page Messages

How can I update the landing page message customers see before ordering

The landing page message is shown before customers start ordering. This is useful for messages such as venue closed, delayed service, or important notices.

Steps to update the landing page message

  1. Go to your eMenu dashboard

  2. Open Menu Builder

  3. On the first page, find the Overview section

  4. Click the pencil button

  5. Select the service you want to edit, for example Table Service or In Room Dining

    • If you only use one service, you will see one option

  1. Click the pencil button next to the service

  2. Scroll down to the Messages section

  3. In the Service Note box, type the message you want customers to see

  4. Choose the message style such as Danger, Information, or Secondary

  5. Scroll down and click Update to save


How can I update the message shown to customers at checkout

The checkout message appears when customers are about to pay. This is commonly used for collection instructions or final service notes.

Steps to update the checkout message

  1. Go to your eMenu dashboard

  2. Open Menu Builder

  3. In the Overview section, click the pencil button

  4. Select the service you want to update

  5. Click the pencil button for that service

  6. Scroll down to the Messages section

  7. Find the Checkout Message box

  8. Enter the message you want customers to see at checkout

  9. Choose the message style if required

  10. Scroll down and click Update to save




What message styles can I use

You can choose different styles depending on the importance of the message:

  • Danger for urgent notices such as closed or unavailable

  • Information for general updates

  • Secondary for less important messages


Why is my message not showing to customers

Check the following:

  • You updated the correct service

  • You clicked the Update button at the bottom of the page

  • The service is currently active
