Now you're in - it's time to get your team onto Emerge too. The first thing to understand is the different access levels, so here we go!

Team member access

Team members can only access the cards that you have allocated them. Their view looks slightly different to yours (as an owner):

Team members can only ever see the card(s) that they've been allocated. This includes the funds available, when/if funds renew, and have limited card controls (freeze, add to Apple/Google wallet, set PIN, etc).

If you haven't allocated them a card, they will see very little until you do.

Admin access

Admin, on the other hand, have the same access/view you as an owner do. These include the ability to add/remove team members, add cards, view all accounts, transfer to/pay from an Emerge account, etc.

How to add a team member/admin

Navigate to 'Manage team' under the Manage tab on the home screen:

Here you can see a list of all your team including the access level (team or admin), invitation status (pending or expired) and how many cards they have allocated to them.

To invite someone, simply tap Invite in the top right of the 'Manage team' screen - this will take you to the Invite screen:

Here you simply need to input their details (name, mobile number &personal email address), and assign their access level. Once filled, hit submit and your team member will receive an email invitation to download Emerge.

Please note - Admin will be required to complete an AML check before they can access your Emerge account. This is done through the app as a part of onboarding.

Once the team member has downloaded Emerge and completed onboarding, they will have access to your Emerge account (but only the level you have provided ie. Admin or Team member).

How to add a card (yourself or team member)

Navigate to 'Cards' from your home screen:

Here you get a view of all of your cards + all of those that are allocated across the team. In the top right of this screen, tap the '+' icon to add another card.

From here you can choose who the card you are creating is for, yourself or a team member. If you need help adding team members to Emerge, see our guide here.

You can also choose whether you want a virtual card or a physical:

  • Physical cards: These are Debit cards exactly as you know them. They will take 2-3 working days to arrive in the mail but are ready to be used with Google/Apple Wallet & online immediately. These cards will eventually cost $10 each but we're waiving this fee for now

  • Virtual cards: These are Debit cards that exist only in the app. They can be used for contactless (via Google/Apple Pay) or online payments. These cards are instant and free.

When you've made your choice, simply follow the instructions to set up the card.

Understanding card settings

Card settings give you total control & peace of mind over how and where your team are using the cards they are allocated.

When creating a card you will be able to choose the fund account, spending limits, and controls that suit your needs.

Choosing the account
The account that a card is allocated to is where it will draw its funds. Any cards allocated to an account will only ever be able to draw from that account.

You can set up as many separate accounts as you need in your Emerge account.

Setting spend limits
Spending limits let you control how much a card can be used for on a one-time or recurring basis.

  • No spend limit: There is no limit on the card. It can draw unlimited funds from the connected account (provided the account has money)

  • Weekly/Monthly recurring: The card can only spend up to $X in a month/week. This will automatically renew each month/week.

  • Total limit: The card is only authorised to spend a set amount of money. If it hits that limit, it can no longer be used.

Toggling spend permissions
These give you control over where are card can/cannot be used.

  • Online: The card can/cannot be used for making online purchases.

  • International in-stores: The card can/cannot be used to purchase in-store overseas. This incurs an international exchange fee.

  • ATM Withdrawals: The card can/cannot be used to withdraw cash from ATMs.

  • Contactless: A physical card can/cannot be used contactless or a virtual card can/cannot be used with Google/Apple Pay.

  • Request purchase receipt: Prompts every transaction to have a receipt added in-app
