Pick Requirements for Entertainment-Only NCAAB Survivor (BY Day) Contests

When creating a Splash Entertainment-Only NCAAB Survivor contest, commissioners can choose how often participants must make picks in order to stay alive in the contest. This setting is called Pick Requirements.

You can select between two formats depending on how you want the contest to progress.

Where to Choose Pick Requirements

On the contest setup page:

  • Locate the field to enter your Contest Name

  • Directly beneath it, you'll see the Pick Requirements field

  • The default selection is One Pick Per Day (10 days total)

Most commissioners will want to keep this default setting.

Available Pick Requirement Formats

One Pick Per Day (10 Days Total) — Default

In this format, entrants must make one correct pick for each tournament day included in the contest. Requires daily participation, creates a fast-paced survivor experience, and spans approximately 10 tournament days.

Recommended for most contests.

Choose this option if you want high engagement throughout the tournament, frequent decision-making, and a traditional daily survivor contest experience.

One Pick Per Round (6 Rounds Total)

In this format, entrants make one pick per tournament round rather than per day. Fewer total picks required, each pick covers an entire round, slower elimination pace, and spans all six rounds of the tournament.

Choose this option if you want a simpler, less time-intensive contest with strategic long-term picks and fewer deadlines.

Which Format Should You Choose?

Use One Pick Per Day if you want: maximum engagement, daily action and suspense, and a more challenging survival format.

Use One Pick Per Round if you want: simpler gameplay, less frequent pick submissions, and a longer, strategy-focused contest.

Selecting the right pick requirement ensures your Survivor contest matches your group's availability and preferred level of involvement. If you're unsure which option is best, the default One Pick Per Day (10 days total) is the safest choice for most contests.
