When to Use Volume-Based Pricing

Use volume-based pricing when:

  • Your supplier offers discounts based on the quantity purchased.

  • You want to auto-calculate the correct cost of sale price based on quantity on your sales order.

  • You're selling in bulk and want your sales prices to adjust dynamically, just like purchase prices.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Open the Product

  • Navigate to the Products section.

  • Find and open the product you buy from a supplier or sell in bulk.

2. Go to Prices or Supplier Prices

  • Click Add Price to begin setting up pricing tiers.

  • Choose Supplier Prices for purchases or Prices for customer-facing prices.

3. Select Volume-Based Net Pricing

  • Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Volume-Based Pricing.

  • This lets you define different price tiers based on order quantity.

4. Enter Quantity Ranges and Prices

  • Create your pricing brackets to reflect volume discounts.

    For example:

    • 1–10 units = $10.00 each

    • 11–50 units = $9.50 each

    • 51+ units = $9.00 each

  • Add as many brackets as needed to match your pricing model.

5. Save the Price Record

  • Once all boxes are entered, click Save.

6.Applies Pricing Automatically

  • When you add this product to a Purchase Order or Order Sale, will automatically apply the correct pricing tier based on quantity.
