Not all ESHYFT nurses will be the right fit for your facility. Perhaps a nurse is a previous employee of your facility and now started working at an agency, or they don't get along well with your staff, or you don't want them to work at your facility for another reason.

Whatever the case, you can easily DNR the nurse at one or multiple facilities with our DNR feature.

What is DNR?

The DNR feature allows facility managers to prevent a nurse with whom they’ve had a less-than-favorable experience from seeing and applying for their shifts. This tool provides facility managers with greater control over their staffing.

How do I DNR a nurse?

As a facility manager, you can DNR a nurse from the Facility Manager web and mobile apps.

  1. Starting at the selected nurse's profile, scroll down to ‘DNR (do not return)’ and click ‘DNR NURSE.’

  2. A screen will pop up asking why you are DNRing this specific nurse. Select the reasons for the DNR.

  3. Below the reasons for DNR, you will also be asked to provide a more detailed explanation for the DNR. The explanation is information for our team and will not be shared with the nurse.

  4. Once the DNR form is filled out, click “DNR Nurse”.

How do I DNR a nurse at multiple facilities?

  1. Select multiple facilities:

    • After selecting the reasons for the DNR, the next screen will ask if you want to DNR the nurse at only the current facility or at multiple facilities.

    • This option is available only if you are linked to more than one facility. If you are linked to only one facility, you will not be provided the option to DNR at multiple facilities.

  2. Confirm and Submit:

    • If multiple facilities are selected, any shifts the nurse has in applied or confirmed status at any the selected facilities will be removed.

    • Click “DNR nurse” to confirm your request.

How to remove a nurse from DNR

  1. Access the Nurse's Profile:

    • Navigate to the nurse’s profile.

  2. Select Remove DNR:

    • Scroll down to ‘DNR(Do Not Return)’ and click on ‘Remove DNR.’

  3. Provide Reason for Removal:

    • A new page will prompt you to explain why you are removing the nurse from DNR. You can type out your reason in the provided text box.

  4. Remove from Multiple Facilities (if applicable):

    • If the nurse was DNR'd at multiple facilities, you will have the option to remove the DNR from either the current facility or multiple facilities. This option is available only if you are linked to more than one facility.

  5. Confirm and Submit:

    • After providing the reason and selecting the facilities (if applicable), click ‘Remove DNR.’

What happens after I submit the DNR?

Once the DNR form is submitted, the nurse will be restricted from viewing and applying for shifts at the facility or facilities selected. If you provide specific details or indicate that the incident will be reported to the state, appropriate actions will be taken based on that information.

What DNR communication does a nurse receive?

Once a nurse is DNR’d, they will receive an email explaining to them they have been DNR’d by your facility. The email will also mention the violation you provided, but your explanation and comments will not be shown.

At this point, the nurse will be unable to see any shifts from your facility and any shifts that the nurse had been previously confirmed for with your facility will be canceled.

Will we be able to see a nurse’s DNR history?

Yes! An added benefit of ESHYFT’s desktop version is that you can view a nurse's DNR history from their profile.
