Summary:
Hallucination is a big concern for any generative AI user - and it poses a serious risk to attorneys. Users of generative AI must verify all responses provided - we call this the “Trust but Verify” approach. To learn more about Eve’s approach to minimizing hallucination and increasing trust in results, read more here.
Eve’s “In-line sourcing” feature allows users to easily find the sources in their documents that Eve used to generate answers - easily verifying the work that Eve has performed. .
How does In-line Sourcing work?
When Eve generates an answer, it will now cite which documents were the most relevant for key parts of the answer. The numbered bubbles included in the answer are links to the document and section used in that response.
To verify the source of Eve’s answer, simply click on that bubble, and Eve will pull up the sections in the document that are most relevant to that portion of the answer.
Please note that “Most relevant” is determined by a number of different techniques that conceptually calculate the semantic similarity and relevance of the sections of the document to the section of the answer.
Users can click through all of the sources used for each answer to validate responses.
To leverage this feature, simply ask Eve to perform work - the in-line sources will come up any time Eve references information in the Session’s documents.
Notes and Limitations:
Note that Eve will only run in-line sources for documents uploaded to Eve. Text documents that are created inside Eve don’t currently support section level sourcing.
