Account Setup Process
The account setup process for Eve is straightforward and user-friendly. Here's a step-by-step guide to getting started:
Initial Account Activation
1. Once your firm has officially joined Eve, the main user will receive a "Welcome to Eve" email
2. Click the "Activate" link in the email to access the password creation page
3. Choose one of two authentication options:
* Create a custom password
* Continue with Google for simplified future access
Accessing Your Homepage
After setting up your credentials, you'll gain immediate access to your Eve homepage.
Understanding Matter Views
Your Matters section offers three distinct viewing options:
1. My Matters
* Matters you personally create
* Matters directly shared to your email address
2. Favorites
* Matters you've marked with a Star
3. All Matters
* Matters shared with 'Any user in this account'
Adding New Users
To invite additional firm members:
1. Navigate to the **Users** section on the left-hand side of your Eve homepage
2. Click the **Invite User** button in the top right corner
3. Enter the new user's firm email address
4. Click Send invite
New users will follow the same initial setup process outlined above to activate their accounts.
Overview of Eve's Capabilities
Eve offers three key functions to enhance your legal work:
1. Case Q&A:
Eve can answer questions about your case based on the facts you provide.
2. Draft Content:
Also known as Blueprints, Eve can create new content, guided by your templates and instructions, using the facts of your case. More details on Drafting with Eve.
3. Brainstorm and Research:
Eve can create outlines, generate ideas, provide feedback, and conduct research on case law.
Basic Workflow for Using Eve in Legal Practice
1. Talk to Eve: Start by creating a new Session for each unique task or case.
2. Provide Instructions: Use the Instructions panel to give Eve context about yourself, who you want her to act as, case details, and/or specific requests.
3. Upload Relevant Documents: Upload and select key documents related to your case.
4. Interact with Eve: Use the "Objective. Context. Request" format when asking questions or giving instructions to Eve.
5. Review and Verify: Always verify Eve's responses using the Quote Verification feature and your professional judgment.
