How to Set Up Assigned Seating

In this article, we’ll walk you through setting up your first event with assigned seating in Evey Events & Tickets. This new feature helps you manage seating arrangements more efficiently and gives your attendees a better experience.

Creating a Location

  1. From the main events list page, click on “Settings” in the top navigation bar.

  2. On the next page, select “Locations and Seating”.

  3. Click “Add location”.

    • Set a name for the location.

    • Optionally, enter a URL if the location has a website to share.

    • Provide additional details (optional).

    • Leave the “Seating plan” dropdown blank for now (you’ll come back to this later).


  4. Click “Save” to proceed.

Creating a Seating Plan

  1. Once your location is saved, click “Add seating plan”.

  2. Provide a name for your seating plan and click “Save”.

  3. You will be taken to a new page where you can build your seating plan.

  4. On the seating plan page, click on the “Files” section.

  5. This will open the Shopify file manager in a new tab. Click “Upload files”, select your image, and wait for it to appear in the list.


  6. Once uploaded, click “Copy link”.

  7. Return to Evey and paste the link in the “Image URL” field. Click “Save”.

  8. Scroll down to the “Seating Zones” section and click “Edit” next to the default zone and rename it (e.g., Zone 1).


  9. To add more zones, click “Add zone” and assign a name for the new zone.

  10. Scroll down to the “Seats” section and select the zone you want to add seats to and click “Add seats.”

  11. You can either:

    • Manually add seats by separating them with commas, or

    • Click “Build from range” to specify the number of seats, set prefixes/suffixes, and click “Build range” to generate the seats.

  12. Click “Save” to add the seats to your zone.

  13. Once your seating plan is set up, go back to the “Locations and Seating” page and select the location you created earlier.

  14. Under the “Seating plan” section, choose the seating plan you just created from the dropdown menu and click “Save”.

Creating an Event with Assigned Seating

  1. Now, when creating a new event, select “Use a saved location”.

  2. Choose the location you created earlier from the dropdown menu.

3. Fill out the rest of the event details and click “Save Event” to create your assigned seating event.

Setting Pricing for Zones

  1. You can set varied pricing for each seating zone.

  2. Go to the “Tickets” tab in “Event Settings” to adjust pricing for each zone.

Viewing the Assigned Seating Event on Your Storefront

To see what your attendees will experience:
On the storefront, attendees can select their ticket type, zone, and seat.

  • They can also view the seating map by clicking “View seating map”.
