When events expire or are no longer active, they’re usually intended to be removed or hidden from your storefront. However, if an event is still showing even after deletion, it can confuse your customers and affect the professional appearance of your store.
This article explains why this happens, how to properly remove an event, and what to do if something goes wrong.
Why is a deleted event still showing?
This typically happens when the event product page is deleted directly from your Shopify store instead of from the Evey app.
Here’s what’s going on:
When you create an event in the Evey app, it automatically creates a linked product page in your Shopify admin.
If you delete that product page directly from Shopify before deleting or archiving the event in Evey, the event may continue to show in your store or appear broken.
Deleting it from Shopify first breaks the connection, so Evey can no longer properly manage or remove the product from your storefront.
How to properly remove an expired event
There are two correct ways to remove an event using the Evey app:
Option 1: Set product status to draft
Open the event in the Evey app.
Go to the Event Settings tab.
Change the event product status to Draft.
Click Save.
This hides the event from your storefront.
You can also scroll down to delete the event entirely if needed.
Option 2: Archive the event
Go to the Events list in the Evey app.
Select the event(s) you want to remove.
Click Actions > Archive events.
Archiving removes the event from your storefront and moves it to your archived list for future reference.
