When expired events or products are deleted or marked as inactive, they are typically intended to be removed or hidden from the public view. Having expired events displayed in the store may confuse your customers and may appear unprofessional which is why this article will guide you on how to avoid this and what to do when this happens.
What is the cause of an event still showing after deletion?
This happens when the event product page is deleted directly from the Shopify store. When you create an event from the app, it will automatically create a product page on the Shopify store, this product page is what your customers see when they purchase a ticket. However, because the source of the event is the Evey app, if you delete the product page on the Shopify store directly, this will cause issues where the product will still show even after deleting it (this error will remain even if you delete it on the app after deleting it from the Shopify store).
So how should you properly remove an expired event?
To take an expired event off the store, there are 2 ways:
First option:
1. You can go to the event and go to the "Event settings."
2. On the Event tab change the event product status to “Draft.”
3. Once done, click Save.
By doing this, the event will no longer show on the storefront. If you scroll down, you will also have the option to delete the event.
Second Option:
1. Go to the events list and mark the event.
2. Click on Actions and then "Archive events."

This is the right way to remove an expired event from the storefront.
