How to Collect a Service Fee

Updated over a week ago

Evey and Shopify charge a small fee per ticket, depending on the plan you're subscribed to. As the event organizer, you have the option to:

  • Cover these fees yourself, or

  • Pass them on to your customers as a service fee.

Evey makes it simple to apply and customize service fees for each ticket type.

How to Enable and Set a Service Fee

  1. Go to your event's dashboard and open the Event Settings.

  2. Under the Ticket Types section, either create a new ticket type or edit an existing one.

  3. In the popup window, scroll to the bottom and check the box for Enable Service Fee.

  4. Enter your desired fee amount.

💡 Tips for Setting Fees:

  • If you want to pass on Evey’s service fee, use your plan’s rate:

    • Starter: $1

    • Growth: $0.50

    • Pro: $0.25

    • Plus: $0.12

  • If you also want to pass on Shopify’s transaction fees, calculate a percentage based on your Shopify plan (typically between 0.5% and 2%).

Customize How Fees Display on Your Storefront

To update how service fees appear to customers:

  1. Go to your event's SettingsStorefront Integrations.

  2. Click on the Service Fees tab.

  3. Customize:

    • Label formatting (how the fee appears on the checkout)

    • Custom CSS styling to match your store’s theme and branding

Your customers will now see and be charged the service fee during checkout.
