If you’re setting up Mailchimp as your email service provider for transactional emails (for example, sending tickets with Evey), the first step is to create a Transactional API Key. This key will allow your account to securely send emails through Mailchimp’s transactional service.
Step 1: Log in and search for Transactional
Log in to your Mailchimp account.
Use the search bar at the top of the page.
Type transactional and press Enter.
Select the first result — this will take you to the Transactional Email page.
Step 2: Launch the Transactional App
On the Transactional Email page, click Launch App.
This will open the Mailchimp Transactional dashboard.
Step 3: Open Settings
Step 4: Create a New Key
On the API Keys page, click New Key.
Enter a description for the key.
Example: Evey Events — so you know this key is used for your Evey integration.
Click Create Key.
Step 5: Copy and Save Your Key
Mailchimp will generate your new API key.
⚠️ Important: Copy this key immediately and save it in a secure place (like a password manager or notepad). For security reasons, Mailchimp will not show it to you again once you close the window.
Step 6: Add Your API Key to Evey
Now that you’ve copied your Mailchimp API key, the next step is to connect it in your Evey dashboard. This will allow Evey to send emails through your Mailchimp account.
