Connecting Exerta to Keitaro for Facebook Traffic

Written by Elaine De Guzman

📋 Note: ReEngage is now Exerta. We're still using the ReEngage name in our code, URLs, and dashboard while we finish updating everything, so all the snippets below still say "ReEngage." Nothing to change on your end.

Keitaro is an ad tracker used to track and optimize Facebook ad campaigns. This guide walks you through connecting it to Exerta.

💡 Why use this?

Connecting Keitaro to Exerta lets your Facebook clicks and conversions get tracked on both platforms, so you can see exactly which campaigns and creatives are actually driving results.

It's also helpful to set up because:

  • It measures agent performance revenue-wise, so our team can suggest and implement improvements for your agents along the way

  • It helps the AI learn which comments and DMs are driving sales, so it can double down on what works

✅ Before you start

A few things to have ready before you begin:

  • Keitaro access: You need permission to create or edit traffic sources and campaigns in your Keitaro account

  • Admin access to your Exerta dashboard: You'll need this to get the postback link in Step 1

  • Check which sub_id parameters are already in use: If your Facebook traffic source in Keitaro already has other parameters set up, check which sub_id parameters are taken before you get to Step 2. That way you're not stuck picking one, saving, and finding out it collided with something else already using it.

🔧 How to set it up

Step 1: Get your Exerta postback link

  1. Go to reengage.ai/dashboard/setup

  2. Click Other Platform

  3. Copy the Reporting Link

This link is unique to your account. You'll swap out a few placeholders in it in Step 2, so keep it handy.

Step 2: Set up a Facebook traffic source in Keitaro

Add the Exerta Id parameter

  1. In Keitaro, create a traffic source from the Facebook template, or open an existing Facebook traffic source

  2. Scroll down and add a new parameter with these settings:

    • Name: Reengage Id

    • Parameter: reid

    • Placeholder or Value: {reid}

📋 Note: If you're using the default Keitaro Facebook template, the first empty parameter is usually sub_id_12. If that one's already in use, pick any available sub_id parameter instead. Whichever one you choose, remember it - you'll need it in the next step. This guide uses sub_id_12 as an example.

Add the Exerta postback URL

  1. In the same traffic source form, scroll up to S2S postback

  2. Paste the Exerta postback link you copied in Step 1

  3. Replace the Exerta placeholders in the link with the matching Keitaro ones:

    • {replace_click_id}{sub_id_12} (or whichever sub_id you chose above)

    • {replace_conversion_value}{revenue}

    • Remove the currency parameter entirely. Keitaro doesn't use a currency macro, so there's nothing to map it to

  4. Click Save Traffic Source

⚠️ Important: The sub_id in your postback URL must be the same one you set on the Exerta Id parameter in the step above. If they don't match, Exerta can't link a conversion back to the click that generated it.

Get your Keitaro Campaign URL

  1. Use this traffic source in a Keitaro campaign for your Exerta traffic

  2. Open the campaign and go to the Tracking tab

  3. Copy the campaign URL from there

You'll paste this into Exerta in Step 3.

Step 3: Set your Exerta offer target URL

  1. Go to reengage.ai/meta/offers

  2. Open the offer you're setting up, or create a new one

  3. Paste the Keitaro Campaign URL from Step 2 into the Target Url field

  4. Save the offer

You're done when: your offer routes through Keitaro before landing on Exerta, so every click and conversion gets tracked on both platforms.

❓ FAQs

🔍 Q: Where do I find my Exerta postback link?
A: Go to reengage.ai/dashboard/setup and click Other Platform, then copy the Reporting Link. This link is unique to your account.

📋 Q: Which Keitaro sub_id should I use for the Exerta Id parameter?
A: If you're on the default Keitaro Facebook template, sub_id_12 is usually the first one open. If it's already taken, use any other available sub_id parameter. Just make sure the sub_id in your postback URL matches the one you set on the Exerta Id parameter.

🔍 Q: What do I need to change before pasting the postback link into Keitaro?
A: Replace the Exerta placeholders with Keitaro's: {replace_click_id} becomes your chosen sub_id (like {sub_id_12}), and {replace_conversion_value} becomes {revenue}. Remove the currency placeholder entirely instead of mapping it to something, since Keitaro doesn't have a currency macro.

⚠️ Q: I'm not seeing conversions come through in Exerta. What should I check?
A: Check two things first. Does the sub_id in your Keitaro S2S postback match the sub_id on your Exerta Id parameter? And is your Exerta offer's Target Url set to the Keitaro Campaign URL from the Tracking tab, not a raw Facebook link? If both check out and conversions still aren't showing up, contact support.

📋 Q: Can I use the same Keitaro traffic source for traffic other than Exerta?
A: This guide assumes a dedicated Facebook traffic source for Exerta traffic. If you mix other traffic into the same source, make sure the Exerta Id parameter and postback stay limited to campaigns actually running through Exerta, so unrelated clicks don't get tagged with a reid.
