How to set and manage targets
Updated over 2 months ago

District-level users and above have the ability to set and manage targets within the Targets module. This feature allows leadership to define performance objectives and track progress across organizational levels.

Setting a New Target

  1. Access the Manage Targets Page:

    • Click the Manage Targets button to open the page displaying all current targets for locations or levels you have access to.

  2. Add a New Target:

    • Click the Add Target button to open the Add Target popup.

    • Configure the target settings:

      • Metric: Select the metric for which the target is being set (e.g., “Labor %”).

      • Condition: Choose whether the target value should be less than or more than the desired threshold.

      • Target Value: Enter the specific value (e.g., Labor % should be less than 24%).

      • Target Type: Choose the organizational level for the target:

        • Options include Company Target, Region Target, District Target, or Store Target.

        • The type you can set depends on your access level (e.g., district-level users cannot set region targets).

    • Select Levels: Specify the levels where the target should apply:

      • For example, if setting a district target, select the applicable district(s).

    • Click Save to apply the target.

  3. Target Cascading:

    • Targets set at higher levels (e.g., district, region, company) will automatically cascade down to all levels beneath them.

Managing or Editing a Target

Edit an Existing Target:

  1. On the Manage Targets page, click the Edit Pencil Icon next to the target you want to modify.

  2. Adjust the settings in the Edit Target popup.

    • Note: Some options, such as metric, type, or level, are not editable. These are fundamental characteristics of a target. If a substantial change is needed, delete the target and create a new one.

  3. Save the changes.

Delete a Target:

  • In the Edit Target popup, select the delete option to remove the target.

Access Level Restrictions

  • Targets set by users with a higher access level (e.g., company-level) cannot be edited by users with lower access levels (e.g., district-level).

  • If a lower-level user needs to manage a target set by a higher-level user:

    • The higher-level user must edit or delete the target.

    • The lower-level user can then create and manage a new target as needed.

Notifications for New or Edited Targets

When a target is created or modified:

  • An email notification is sent to the store manager(s).

  • A banner notification appears on the store manager’s Targets Page, informing them of the new or updated target.

The Targets module ensures performance objectives are clearly defined, communicated, and tracked, enabling leaders at every level to drive results effectively.
