What are inclusion gaps and how do we close them?

Understand what an inclusion gap means and how you can work to closing the gap.

When analysing the data from the employee survey, one of the key things we draw out is gaps in the experience between traditional majority and minority groups. Clear gaps raise some alarm bells โ€” it signifies that what demographic groups people belong to influences their experience at work.

Gaps may require focused efforts to close. That means we dive into recommendations for specific employee groups where necessary. For example, you might be wondering why a recommendation on providing mental health support is showing up in your belonging page? If those with mental health challenges are scoring lower than their peers, then we need to address this pattern of exclusion with targeted action.

The inclusion recommendations we provide are designed to benefit everyone in your company, but especially those with lower scores. We'll also work with you to measure impact over time to keep track of employees' feelings, identify patterns of exclusion, and deal with them promptly and sensitively.
