In-app payments are flexible and can be updated as your nursery changes. Whether you need to update your business details, adjust payment settings, or disable in-app payments, you can manage everything directly in Famly.
Updating Your Business Details
Over time, your business details may change. This could include moving premises, updating your trading name, or switching to a new bank account. You can update these details directly in Famly.
You can update the following details:
Legal business name or trading name
Business address
Bank account details
Contact phone number and email address
To update your business details:
Go to Settings โ Finances โ Invoicing and payments
Find the In-app payments section
Select Edit details
Make your changes, then save
๐ก Good to know: If you update your legal or trading name, Stripe may need to review the change. This usually takes one to three business days. In most cases, payments continue as normal while the review is in progress.
Changing How Payments Work
You can update your payment settings at any time. This includes managing payment methods, setting payment requirements, and choosing when automatic payments run.
Payment methods
You can turn individual payment methods on or off. Make sure at least one payment method remains enabled so parents can continue to make payments. Any changes take effect immediately.
Payment requirements
You can choose whether parents must add a payment method before accessing the app, or whether they need to set up automatic payments. You can also allow parents to pay custom amounts. These settings apply straight away.
Automatic payment schedule
You can choose when automatic payments run, such as weekly, monthly, or on the invoice due date. Select the day of the week or date of the month, and decide whether vouchers should be included. Changes apply from the next scheduled payment run.
Statement descriptors
You can update the name that appears on your payout statements and on parentsโ bank statements. Using a recognisable name helps parents identify payments more easily. Updates apply to the next payout or the next payment a parent makes.
Disabling In-app Payments
If you no longer want to use in-app payments, you can disable them once all payments have finished processing.

Before you disable in-app payments
All payments must be fully processed before you can disable in-app payments:
No payments waiting to be processed
No payments are currently processing
A zero Stripe balance, with all payouts completed
If payments are still in progress, you will need to wait for them to complete. BACS payments usually take two to three days to verify, while other payment methods can take longer.
If needed, you can prevent new payments by disabling all payment methods while existing payments finish processing.
If you are unable to clear older transactions, contact our support team, and we will help you resolve this.
How to disable in-app payments
Once all payments are complete:
Go to Settings โ Finances โ Invoicing and payments
Scroll to the bottom of the page
Select Disable in-app payments
Read the warning message
Confirm when you are ready to continue
What happens after you disable in-app payments
Once disabled:
Parents can no longer make payments through Famly
Automatic payments stop running
Saved payment methods are removed from parent accounts
You will see the in-app payments signup page again
Payment history is not deleted. Both you and your parents can still view past payments in Famly.
If you enable in-app payments again later
You will need to complete the full setup and verification process again, including business and identity checks with Stripe. This usually takes one to three business days and cannot be skipped, even if you were verified previously.
What Parents See When In-app Payments Are Disabled
Parents will notice the following changes:
Saved payment methods are removed
Payment settings are no longer available
Payment history remains visible in Famly
When in-app payments are enabled again:

Parents need to add their payment methods again
Previous payment history is still available
