Register an Employee without an Email Address

In order to generate 1-time passwords for staff members, you will need the Manage logins for Staff permission found under Settings β†’ Staff β†’ Roles and permissions β†’ Compare roles β†’ Administration.

To register an employee without an email address:

  • Click on the Home icon in your sidebar

  • Go to Staff

  • Click on Add employee and enter the employee's details

  • Enter the agreed-upon email address that includes the employee's ID

  • Next, click on the Generate 1-time password button. This button will appear in a new column for eligible employees.

  • From the pop-up, click on Reveal password to reveal the 1-time password

  • Inform the employee of their password. They can use this password to log on for the first time, but they will be prompted to create a new password immediately

For security purposes, we recommend that you show the staff member their password on your screen or tell them the password over the phone. To copy the password to your clipboard, you can click or tap on it.

If you do not like the original 4-word password suggested, you can select the Re-generate password button for another option.

πŸ’‘ The reason we have developed the 1-time password to include 4 randomly generated words rather than characters is so managers will have the ability to say the words over the phone to a staff member easily.


Logging in as an Employee without an Email Address

The employee's next steps:

  • Go to app.famly.co

  • Enter your assigned email address and the password given to you by the nursery manager

  • You'll be redirected to a screen where you can change your password

  • Click on Continue to log in


Forgotten Passwords

If you have forgotten your password, you will need to request a new password from your manager and follow the steps outlined below:

  • Go to app.famly.co

  • Click on Forgot your password?

  • Enter your assigned email address

  • You'll be prompted to request a new password from the nursery manager outside of Famly

  • Once you have been given a new password, enter your assigned email and the new password and click Reset password

  • You will now be able to create your own password again

Please note if you are both an employee and a parent at one nursery, we recommend that you make separate accounts so that your parent account uses a private email. This will ensure you still receive email notifications so you can still manage your private password recovery.
