Your Booking Calendar is your inventory on Fernwayer — it shows travelers when your Experience is available to book. Keeping it up to date is essential. If no dates are available, travelers can't book.
Most travelers plan their trips 3–6 months (or more) in advance, so we recommend displaying availability for a rolling 12–18 months. The calendar can be set up for a maximum of 18 months at a time.
A few terms to know
A Schedule is recurring availability you set across a range of dates (e.g. every Tuesday and Thursday from June to May, 9 AM start).
An Entry is a single occurrence on a specific date and time. Schedules generate Entries automatically; you can also create individual Entries (for example, in response to a specific traveler request).
A Time Slot is a specific recurring time within a Schedule (e.g. the 8 AM slot of a Schedule that also has a 2 PM slot, or the only time slot of a single-session Schedule).
The booking cutoff time — set in your Experience Details, not in the calendar — determines how far in advance travelers must book. It can be temporarily adjusted to accept last-minute requests (see Managing a Single Date for how).
Accessing the Booking Calendar
There are two ways to get to your Booking Calendar.
From the homepage: When logged in, click on your avatar in the top corner to open the menu, then choose Booking Calendar. Accessing the calendar this way lets you browse the calendars of all your Experiences in one place.
From an Experience listing: When logged in, open one of your Experience listings. Next to your name as the Experience Maker, you'll see a Booking Calendar button.
Once inside, you can switch between Experiences using the menu under My Experiences.
What you can do in the Booking Calendar
Add availability by creating a Schedule
Manage a single date — add, edit, or delete an Entry
Edit or delete a Time Slot within a Schedule
Remove blocks of availability by deleting a Schedule
Link Experience Calendars to prevent double bookings if you're a solo Experience Maker
View bookings made by travelers
A few things that make managing the calendar easier
It's usually easier to set up recurring availability first, then remove specific dates or time slots when needed.
You'll need to repeat the Adding Availability process to set up:
Seasonal start times (e.g. summer 7 AM, winter 8 AM — each season is its own Schedule).
Multiple time slots in the same day (e.g. a 9 AM and a 2 PM start time — each time slot is its own Schedule).
If you have more than one Experience and host them yourself, use Linking Experience Calendars to avoid double bookings.
If you have any questions or run into issues, please chat with Fernwayer Support directly from the website or the app - look for the "speech bubble" icon.
