How can the Experience Maker communicate with the Traveler from the time of booking until they meet ?

As soon as an experience is booked, you can talk directly to the Traveller via chat. You can reach the chat window in 3 ways:

  • From the Email: Go to the booking confirmation e-mail and click on "Chat with Traveler" button.

  • On the App and Web: Go to the Booking Calendar in the main menu , click the arrow button in the specific booking you would like to communicate with, this will open a box underneath with the traveler name and chat icon. Click the chat icon to chat with the traveler.

  • Types of Questions to expect: After booking, people often ask about practical things like the meeting place or special needs (e.g., food allergies). We ask them to tell you ahead of time if they are bringing young children on an experience that includes transport, like a boat ride.

Helpful Chat Features

  • Chats between Experience Maker and Traveler are Encrypted: This feature enables you to exchange sensitive information that is necessary for the experience such as passport information.

  • Photo Attachments are Possible in Chat: This is especially helpful for Experience Makers who wish to send images to the Traveler such as a photo of the meeting point, of the host the travelers will meet or a co-branded Fernwayer/Exp Maker Welcome image.

Off-Platform Communication

  • Our Policy: We ask you not to accept requests made outside our platform. While it might seem easier, doing things off-platform can affect the value and trust we’re building together. It also goes against the integrity of our platform. Lastly, keep in mind that any conflict or dissatisfaction that arises from matters discussed off-platform cannot be resolved by us.
