Sometimes Fieldwork gives the option to add locations, sometimes not

Summary

Fieldwork apps will not offer a property type when adding materials if the property is not entered in customer's Service Location form. The lookup table for the Target Area doesn't know what Property Type to reference. 

Key Points

  • Edit the customer's location page to select the customer's property type

  • Have all your techs reload data in the mobile app to see the update

To select the customer's property type:

  1. Go into the customer's account page

  2. From the Service Location tab, click View

  3. Click Edit

  4. In the Property Type drop-down list, click Choose property type... and select the type of location the customer has (residential, commercial, multi-family, etc.)

  5. Click Save

Important Have all your techs reload data in the mobile app to see the update.

  1. Save any unsaved Work Order in the mobile app. 

  2. Tap Save in the upper-right corner of the open Work Order. 

  3. Tap Save & Exit

  1. Then, from the Calendar, tap the menu in the upper-left corner (the three lines)

  2. Tap Settings

  3. Tap Reload Data

  4. Tap Ok or Allow to any messages

Create new property types and target areas at Settings/Property Types & Target Areas.
