The QuickBooks status for the invoice changed

Summary

Any change made to an invoice that was synced to QuickBooks, such as an edit to the price or tax, or even printing the Invoice, QuickBooks will change the status to Yes - updates pending.ย

  • Manually sync the Invoices in Sales > Invoices

After an invoice is modified a disconnect is created in QuickBooks between the original Invoice and the updated Invoice. All components are there in QuickBooks, they just need to be reconnected. You need to manually re-sync to QuickBooks.

Note Invoices flagged with Yes - updates pending need to be manually synced.

To update the invoices follow these steps:

  1. From the Dashboard, click Sales

  2. Click Invoices

  3. Filter SYNCED TO QB ONLINE status and click Yes (updates pending)

  4. Click the Filter button

  5. Check the Select All button to the left of the Status column header

  6. Click Sync to QB Online

Note This is not an automated process so it is not uncommon to have 500 or more invoices with updates pending. Updating as many as 500 can take about 20-25 minutes.
