Add images into your manuscript from the toolbar:

Double click to bring up the toolbar. Be careful not to highlight any text (or it will get deleted once you add your image).

Select the image icon in the toolbar, and then choose the image you'd like to add.

Use the image formatting tools to resize your image and choose how you'd like it to display in your project.
