You can add a countdown timer to your store using the Shopify Theme Editor. This lets you place the timer anywhere your theme supports sections, like product pages or your homepage.
Add a countdown timer
Steps:
Go to Online Store → Themes in your Shopify admin
Click Customize on your active theme
Navigate to the page where you want the timer (e.g. product page, homepage)
Click Add block
Select Flash Countdown Timer
Click Save
👉 Your timer will appear immediately in the preview.
Choose where to place the timer
You can add the countdown timer to:
Product pages
Homepage
Any page that supports blocks
👉 Tip:
Placing the timer near key actions (like the Add to Cart button) can improve visibility and conversions.
Customize your timer
Once added, you can configure everything from the side panel:
Timer type (fixed date, per visitor, daily recurring)
Text (heading, labels, expired message)
Design (styles, colors, background)
👉 All changes update in real time in the preview.
Preview before publishing
Before going live:
Check how the timer looks on desktop and mobile
Make sure the timing and message are correct
Confirm placement feels natural on the page
Common issues
Timer not showing?
Make sure you clicked Save
Confirm you added it to the correct page/template
Check that the section/block is visible and not hidden
