Understanding the Ready for Order Toggle on the Order by Vendor Page

Learn how the Ready for Order filter and material status tabs work independently on the Order by Vendor page, and why a material can appear in both places at once.

The Ready for Order toggle and status tabs are two independent systems. Toggling a material as Ready for Order does not change its status tab — it only adds it to the Ready for Order filter view. A material flagged as Ready for Order will still appear under its current status tab (such as New) and will also show up when the Ready for Order filter is active.

Navigating to Order by Vendor

  1. Go to the Order Material page and select Order by Vendor.

  2. From the vendor list, click the vendor you want to work with.

How Status Tabs Work

Materials are organized by their current order status. Each tab — New, Ordered, Backordered, and Canceled — shows only materials assigned to that status.

  1. Review how materials appear across the status tabs. Each material displays under the tab that matches its current order status.

  2. Click a tab such as New to see all materials currently assigned that status.

Using the Ready for Order Filter

The Ready for Order filter is separate from the status tabs. It surfaces all materials flagged as ready to order, regardless of which status tab they belong to.

  1. Use the Ready for Order filter to view all materials flagged as ready, regardless of their current status. Note that materials still display under their status tab — the filter is an additional view, not a replacement.

  2. To flag a material, locate it and turn on its Ready for Order toggle, then save. This does not change the material's order status — it only adds it to the Ready for Order filter view.

  3. After saving, return to the vendor. The material now appears under both its status tab (e.g., New) and the Ready for Order filter — confirming the two views are independent.
