What documents do I need to start?

The full checklist of documents you'll upload to become compliant and start booking shifts.

Written by Stephen Paul

Before you can book shifts, we need to confirm you're eligible and compliant. Everything is uploaded in the Florence app, and each item is reviewed by our onboarding team — so clear, in-date documents get you approved faster.

Here's what you'll need:

  • CNO number (nurses) or Personal Support Worker diploma (support workers)

  • Minimum 1 year support-worker experience, or 6 months nursing experience

  • Immunization record (MMR, Hepatitis B, TB and Varicella)

  • COVID-19 vaccination

  • Valid photo ID

  • Eligibility to work in Canada

  • Proof of address (e.g. a bank statement or phone bill)

  • VSC (Vulnerable Sector Check) — must be less than 6 months old

  • CPR/AED — First Aid and Basic Cardiac Life Support training

  • 2 references

  • Your SIN (Social Insurance Number), for payroll

You can track what's approved and what's still outstanding on the onboarding checklist in the app. If something is rejected, we'll tell you why — just re-upload a corrected version. Photograph documents in good light, fully in frame, with all the text readable.
