How to Merge Work Orders in FlowPath

  1. Access the Work Orders Table View

    • Ensure you are in the table view (not list or other views).

    • Merging work orders is only available in table view.

  2. Select Work Orders to Merge

    • Click on the bulk actions menu at the bottom.

    • Choose Merge Work Orders from the options.

    • Note: Inspection work orders cannot be merged.

  3. Confirm Selection

    • After selecting work orders, click Submit.

    • A confirmation pop-up will appear—click Confirm.

  4. Choose the Main Work Order

    • Select which work order will be the main work order (others will merge into this one).

    • A dropdown will let you pick the primary work order.

  5. Select Merge Options

    • Choose what information should be merged (watchers, users, comments, etc.).

    • Single-select fields (like site, location, equipment) cannot be merged automatically.

  6. Finalize the Merge

    • Click Merge Work Orders to complete the process.

    • A confirmation message will appear: “Work order merged successfully.”

  7. Review the Merged Work Order

    • Check that assigned users, categories, and comments carried over.

    • The original work orders are now archived as child work orders under the main one.

  8. Notification Behavior

    • No new notifications are sent when work orders are merged.

    • Notifications will only trigger if a new comment or update is made afterward.

  9. Unmerging Work Orders

    • Scroll to the child work orders section in the main work order.

    • Click Disconnect to unmerge.

    • Since disconnected work orders are archived, use filters to find and restore them.

Only work orders you have access to can be merged—users can only merge work orders within their assigned locations or visibility settings.
