Submission process

How to submit work to Frame Set and track your submission's status

Frame Set has made it easy for anyone to submit work to be added to Frame Set. All Members, Free and Pro, can submit commercials, music videos and short films. Our Curation team reviews each submission to see if it meets our criteria. If your submission is accepted, it may be selected to be Featured.

You will need to log in to your Frame Set account before you can submit.

How to submit your film:

You can also submit work by clicking Submit a Title from the main menu.

How to track the status of your submission:

  • Pending = it is in queue to be reviewed by our Curation team.

  • Review = your film has been accepted to Frame Set. Our curation team will review the credits and make Frame and Motion selections.

  • Rejected = our Curation team selected one or more rejection criteria.

  • Complete = The work is on Frame Set. A link to the title page appear.

Average time frame for submission status updates:

  • Pending = 1-3 days from submission

  • Review = 1-2 weeks from submission date

If it has been less than one month from your submission date, your work may still be selected to be Featured.

Why we reject submissions:

Here are some reasons why submissions may be automatically rejected:

  • Burn-ins: captions, subtitles or logos which remain throughout the film

  • Duplicate: The work is already on Frame Set

  • Spec work: These should be submitted as short films, not commercials

These are other reasons why submissions may be rejected:

  • Too reliant on effects: The film is mostly AI generated, VFX, CGI, or animation

  • Low quality: The visual quality is low, or has poor production value

  • No credits: The director, cinematographer, editor or colorist were not credited

How we pick Frames and Motions:

When submissions are in Review, our Curation team will watch the entire work and select Frames and Motions that make for helpful references. We looks for Frames with the strongest composition, color, lighting and focus and Motions that demonstrate dynamic camera techniques and transitions. If you believe our Curation team has not selected Frames and Motions that properly represent your work, please send a message to help@frameset.app including a link to the title.

If your submission status updated to Complete in the last 48 hours, some Frames and Motions may still be processing and not yet added to the title page.

How we select submissions to be Featured:

Each week our Curation team builds a shortlist of work that has strong visual clarity and demonstrates exceptional filmmaking techniques. We require Featured work to have already premiered publicly or been shared on Instagram.

Once you've submitted, please feel free to contact us if you'd like to share with us some more about the film. A good story from the production or interesting BTS material may help your work be Featured by Frame Set.

If your work has been selected to be Featured, you will receive an email from Dylan Hahn and/or a direct message from @frame.set on Instagram.
